MY STORY
My connection with cars goes back long before Top Drone.
Cars, bikes, trucks, boats and speed have always been my thing.
I was a mechanic for more than 25 years… but year by year cars became ever more complex and the engineers seemed to deliberately design cars to be impossible to work on! Even jobs that were once straightforward now require disassembling half the vehicle.
It so happens I also liked photography, so I decided enough was enough, hung up the overalls, and turned the hobby into a full-time career in photography and filmmaking.
I also loved the racing side of motoring, spending a season racing a Ford Fiesta XR2 in Stock Hatch Championship with the 750 Motor Club before getting into drifting and track days.
After seeing videos of cars drifting, it wasn't long before I caught the drifting bug and got to work on fixing up my daily driver, a 1988 BMW 325i E30! Kitted it out with adjustable coilovers, welded the diff before getting an LSD and fitted her with an M52B28 2.8 engine from an E36. I did plan on fitting the mighty BMW S60 4ltr V8 at some point but life got in the way, as it does.
Anyhow, spent several years enjoying drift days with the Beamer at different circuits and venues around the UK and Ireland.
Motorsport has always been a big interest of mine. From rallying and Formula 1 to MotoGP, car shows, and everything in between.
Photographing and filming cars is a natural extension of that passion. My background as a mechanic and my love for machines and speed mean I don't just see a car as a car, I appreciate the engineering, details, stance, sound, smell, the movement and character that make each vehicle unique.
Whether it's a classic, performance car, modified build or rally car, I aim to capture what makes that particular vehicle special.
Cars have been a passion of mine for many many years. Now I get to combine that passion with photography, filming and drone work to create something I love to do!
